Calling all Norse supporters!
Volunteers needed to appraise (judge) at the Regional Destination
Imagination tournament at Mona Shores High School on Saturday March
10th from 8am-4pm. Must be over 18 and out of high school and attend a
training on Saturday February 11th.
Every year a few large schools make up the majority of appraisers so it
is our goal this season to bring more appraisers than we have teams to
increase our school's input on the appraising process of our teams.
If you know of any adult over 18 and out of high school who is willing
to train and appraise at the March 10th tournament have them contact
Missi Nadeau as soon as possible:
mnadeau_ihs@comcast.net
or 231-750-0200.

State Announces 2010-11 Schools "Beating the Odds"
“Beating the Odds” schools have found ways to work smarter and harder,
not just harder. They have good leaders, knowledgeable and prepared
teachers who engage students and a commitment to involve and embrace
parents and the community.”
- Mike Flanagan, Superintendent of Public Instruction
"To make this list a school must be performing above and beyond others
with similar demographics. Our High School has done just that! We all
know that it takes a full district effort for success to shine at the
High School level. Way to go NM! We should all feel very proud!"
- Dr. Curt Babcock, Superintendent of North Muskegon Public Schools

Understanding
Michigan's New Cut Scores
The Michigan state Board of
Education recently adopted new, higher MEAP and MME cut scores in
mathematics, reading, science and social studies. The new cut scores
represent a significantly higher standard for student achievement, and
are intended to ensure that all students are on track to be successful
in an increasingly "global" economy. Click on the link for "The Five
Things Parents Need to Know" and more. |
